St. Albans – Gwendolyn A. “Gwen” Fields, 75, a lifelong resident of this area passed away late Monday July 23, 2012, at the Burlington Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born on July 21, 1937, in St. Albans, Gwen was the daughter of the late Keith and Marguerite (Brouillard) Bockus.
Gwen was married to Orville L. “Hank” Fields, who preceded her in death on March 27, 2010. Gwen graduated from Bellows Free Academy, and then received her Registered Nurse’s degree from Jeanne Mance School of Nursing. For many years she was a nurse at the former St. Albans Hospital and then retired from the former Verdelle Village Extended Care Facility.
Survivors include her children, David Fields and his wife, Anne, of Milton and Deborah Gerow and her husband, Ted, of New Haven, and her grandchildren, Kelsey and Alyssa.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, July 28, 2012, from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main Street, St. Albans.
Gwen’s family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many Doctors, Nurses, and “Angels of the Fourth Floor” for all the Special Care & Love that they provided to Gwen and her friends, & relatives over her stay with them.
A graveside funeral service will then follow at 1:30 P.M. at the family lot in Holy Cross Cemetery on Fairfax Street. The Reverend Emanuel Duke will officiate.
